Apple Watch Series 4 bezel-less design confirmed in front panel leak

Apple Watch Series 3

Since way back in March, the Apple Watch Series 4 has been expected to adopt a new bezel-less design that would result in a 15% increase in display area over last year’s Apple Watch Series 3. Since then, this has been backed up by multiple reports and was even confirmed by a leaked press shot. And now, with just hours left hours to go before Apple’s event, the front panel of the next-generation smartwatch has leaked out.
Taking a look at the image, it’s clear that the overall front design is inspired by last year’s iPhone X. After all, Apple has taken the necessary steps to reduce the front bezels significantly. In fact, the new bezels appear to be roughly half the size of the ones seen on previous-generation Apple Watch models. In addition to this, while Apple’s recent smartwatches made use of more traditional rectangular displays with 90-degree angles, the Series 4 will adopt rounded corners, thus giving it a much more modern look that coincides with the trends of 2018. Also, a higher resolution is to be expected.
In addition to the new front, Apple’s next watch is also expected to boast a slightly more premium ceramic back panel. Moreover, while the frame of the device is expected to remain largely unchanged, the device is expected to follow in the footsteps of previous iPhones by doing away with the physical key and replacing it with a touch-sensitive one. The overall thickness of the smartwatch is set to be reduced too.
So far, no exact pricing information surrounding the Apple Watch Series 4 has surfaced. However, considering the new device is set to include a much larger display, a more premium ceramic rear, and some impressive new features, the Silicon Valley giant is largely expected to push the price upwards.
